As we age there is often some loss of visual function due to a variety of factors. At NRI we are committed to use every technology and treatment available to stop and reverse these causes of vision loss. Coupled with this commitment is our Vision Rehab Program which brings together occupational therapists and eye care physicians to train people to strengthen their visual function as they are being treated to stop or reverse decreases in vision.

The blood vessels of the retina weaken in people with diabetes. As a result of this weakening, fluid and blood can leak from these blood vessels into the retina. This leakage can result in severe damage of the retina causing loss of vision and ultimately blindness. Physicians and scientists at the NRI Center for Diabetic Retinopathy are using groundbreaking new technologies to prevent and in many cases reverse the blinding effects of diabetes on the eye.
